Classic and Cozy: A Custom Cabinetry Tour Through a Timeless New Build

Take a step into this project we just wrapped up last month- a gorgeous new construction that blends cozy charm with timeless design. From the warm woods to crisp whites and elegant gold accents, this inviting home was designed with both style and functionality in mind. We had the pleasure of working on several spaces throughout the home, including custom cabinetry layouts and design. Scroll through for a room-by-room look at the design elements and materials that bring this home to life.

Mudroom / Drop Zone

Right off the side entrance, you’re greeted by this beautiful built-in perfect for storing shoes and coats, as you transition from outdoor to indoor. The bench seating provides a spot for taking off shoes to store in the baskets below. There is closed storage up top for seasonal items like hats and gloves. If you love this wood stain, you’ll be glad to hear it is used in other spots throughout the home. It’s our Burlap stain on hard maple. Right off the mudroom, you get a peek into the laundry room, which features painted cabinetry.

Laundry Room

This laundry room cabinetry is actually from our Edgewood line, or our semi-custom cabinetry line. While this line has less customizable options, it can be cost saver in rooms where you may not need to full custom. Painted in Anew Gray, this laundry room cabinetry is stunningly neutral with a pop of fun tile. We love the open storage for laundry baskets plus the ample closed cabinet space to hideaway detergents, dryer sheets, etc. The quartz top also provides a small workspace for folding and sorting.

Family Room

Moving along to the main living space, we have more custom cabinetry that frames the fireplace. The same wood stain from the mudroom is used here and brings a cozy warmth to create a relaxing space. The closed storage is great for blankets, toys, and tech, while the open shelving is perfect for personal touches. For those that love to rotate seasonal decor and display the latest family photos, this is the spot!

The Kitchen

Open to the living room is this gorgeous custom kitchen, featuring two-toned cabinetry, glass doors, open shelving, and quartz countertops. The Burlap stain on hard maple is paired here with Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore, a lovely fresh white. This cabinetry is inset, meaning the doors and drawers sit flush with the frame, creating a sleek and timeless look. Also contributing to the sleekness of this design is the cabinetry reaching up to the ceiling height of 9 feet, a commonly recommended design feature for kitchens nowadays.

The quartz color, Calacatta Sol by Viatera, features striking large veins mixed with touches of more subtle gold veining, which compliments the gold hardware and fixtures used throughout the design. The lighting follows suit with its warm hue.

The Pantry

If you were wondering where the fridge was, it’s tucked away in the pantry right off the kitchen. This walk-in pantry also features open shelving, including floating shelves, as well as deep drawers for cookware and small appliances. There is plenty of space for dry goods, extra tableware, and miscellaneous kitchen storage in this pantry. The countertop provides a prep space, as well as houses the microwave and coffee maker that would otherwise clutter up the kitchen. The cabinet color, Chantilly Lace, matches the kitchen cabinetry, however, these are full overlay as the drawers and doors sit on top of the frame. Instead of quartz here, a stained wood countertop brings warmth into the space.

The Primary Bathroom

In keeping with the warm woods and gold accents throughout the home, this primary bathroom is no exception. This custom double vanity features quartz countertops with a drop miter edge, a luxurious touch that elevates the aesthetic. The cutout in the middle provides a space to add a stool, creating a desk for sitting and getting ready. The tall linen cabinet provides ample space for fresh towels and other bathroom essentials.
