With 2023 coming to a close, we’re already gearing up for all that is to come in 2024. We have several projects on the books already and gratefully anticipate more to come. One of the incredible parts about being a design studio is that we get to meet so many different clients and learn about them and how we can help make them happy in their home. Since we constantly get invited into our client’s homes, we felt it was time to give a tour of our “home” that is the Gravel Lane Design showroom in Eureka, Illinois.
Located at 154 South Main Street, our showroom sits in the heart of Eureka next to the neighboring small businesses, shops, and restaurants. Our co-owners, Ben and Chris, made this showroom into what it is today, with a little help from our design team along the way. Our showroom houses two office spaces, one conference room, and thousands of samples of cabinet doors, countertops, hardware, tiles, paint colors, and more.
If you peer through the window from Main Street, you’ll get a view of our showroom kitchen featuring a large L-shaped island with bench seating and a waterfall edge. Behind the seating area is another wall of cabinetry featuring a large custom range hood. We have plans to replace the countertops in this area in 2024 to show off some of the latest quartz colors we think our clients will love.
Throughout our showroom cabinetry, we have custom storage inserts for utensils, knives, spices, pans, trash rollouts, etc. We enjoy letting our clients see the full range of options that you can get with a custom kitchen and custom cabinetry. Our more recent cabinetry addition is our showroom island that features a gorgeous Light New Walnut wood stain with uniquely stylish reeded drawer fronts. This is where most of our design meetings take place as there is plenty of room to lay out samples and renderings.
If you need a beverage during your design meeting, we also have our beverage bar complete with a beverage fridge, appliance garage, and natural stone quartzite countertop/backsplash. Don’t be afraid to ask for a cup of coffee, soda, or water!
Along with kitchen cabinetry, we also design a lot of custom bathrooms, so our showroom has a few vanities for clients to view in person. Each one shows off different styles of cabinetry, colors, sinks, and hardware to give our clients a visual representation of some of the many vanity options.
Moving along to our collection of loose samples, our showroom houses a wide variety of countertops samples from quartz and porcelain to natural stones and solid surface. Our design team is great at narrowing down your search to a few hand-picked options or you can explore the samples for yourself.
We also have several towers of hardware so you can browse how different finishes look with your cabinetry. With so many different styles, there is something for everyone!
You may have noticed the hallway towards the back of our showroom and that is our hallway of cabinet doors. Here we have both our semi-custom cabinet samples as well as a wall of fully custom cabinet doors. We have a variety of paint and stain colors to choose from, but we can also create a custom stain, paint, or door style for our clients!
You may notice a few doors missing as we lend them out to clients to view in their own space to make sure they love the style and color with all their other fixtures. It can be challenging to choose a favorite stain or paint color with so many endless options! This is again where our designers come in and help with selections that fit your style and budget.
Speaking of our designers, our office space in the back is where our design team works when they’re not on the road visiting clients for on-site meetings. We currently have a team of five designers, plus a photographer/digital marketing coordinator. This is where our team works on layouts, cabinet plans, and design renderings.
We have a few more workspaces upstairs including our co-owner’s office and a conference room. If there’s not a full house in the showroom, it usually means our team is out on a site visit, meeting with clients in their home, or visiting a vendor to make selections. We do allow walk-ins in our showroom, but we always suggest making an appointment to ensure that one of our designers is available to assist you!
